We provide service to our clients in various aspects of franchising including pre-purchase franchise evaluation, assessment of documents, developing risk management strategies for franchisors, preparation of documents for franchise systems including franchise agreements and disclosure documents. We also provide assistance to protect the important intellectual property base of a franchise system including trade marks. Our experience extends to national and international franchise systems and we have developed valuable overseas contacts with people experienced in franchising.
Our franchise team works closely with our firm’s dispute resolution and litigation team. This means our priority focus is on finding constructive commercial solutions for clients and minimising the likelihood of costly litigation. When required, we are able to instigate or defend proceedings in all Courts and tribunals.
David Munn has attended national and international conferences on franchising, presented lectures on franchising including at two Auckland District Law Society seminars and had articles published by the New Zealand Law Journal and Accountants journal.
